1. Passport validity
The UAE normally requires six months of validity from the day you arrive.
Adding this measures the six months from your arrival, which is what the authorities actually assess.

Is my passport uploaded anywhere?
No. The check runs inside your own browser. The image is never sent to us, never sent to any other company, and never stored. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
Does passing this mean my visa will be approved?
No. This catches avoidable problems like an expiring passport or an unreadable scan. Only Dubai Immigration decides an application, and no agency can promise an outcome.
What is the machine-readable zone and why check it?
It is the two lines of letters, numbers and < symbols at the bottom of your passport photo page. They encode your passport number, nationality and dates together with check digits, so a single mistyped character can be detected mathematically. Catching a wrong passport number here costs nothing; catching it after an application is posted is expensive, because a rejected application is not refundable.
